The European Commission published a draft of a regulation to create a European Health Data Space (EHDS)
The aim of this EHDS is to enable EU citizens to use and have control over their health data. It will also facilitate an EU-wide market for digital health-related services and products. In addition, it will create a coherent, trustworthy, and efficient framework for using health data for research, innovation, policymaking, and regulatory purposes while at the same time ensuring complete compliance with the EU's high data protection standards. The public consultation for this proposal is open until 28 July 2022. The feedback received will be taken into consideration during the legislative debate.
