As part of EURORDIS’ continued commitment to empowering people living with diseases and improving their quality of life, we have organised the EURORDIS Summer School’ for capacity building for patient representatives in aspects of clinical trials and drug development.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This 4-day workshop (in English) intends to establish an environment for education, training and information exchange for selected patient representatives from a wide variety of diseases across Europe.
The aim is to further the understanding of patient representatives on their role and potential input in the regulatory process of drug development and clinical trials in Europe. EURORDIS’ patient representatives, involved in drug development and clinical trials, have a unique opportunity to meet together and interact with each other regulators, and academic partners to learn from their experience.
PARTICIPATION:
Attendance is limited to 40 people who must be or must become EURORDIS members. Please fill and return the application form (ESS Application 2014 [2]) as soon as possible (E-mail: nancy.hamilton@eurordis.org [3], Fax +33 1 56 53 52 15).
Selection of participants will be made by an ad hoc committee based on the following criteria:
a) experience in the field (professional background, experience in a patient group),
b) willingness to act, in the future, as a EURORDIS volunteer and patient advocate, and
c) level of English

The deadline for applications is December 20th, 2013.
The EURORDIS Summer School will be organised from June 2nd-6th, 2014 in Barcelona, Spain.
